This 18th century hotel offers a lounge bar, restaurant and conservatory drinking area. A more sedate environment than some other bars around the town.

Historic Interest

A reference in the Ipswich Journal*** on 07 Aug 1756 to the White Horse in Leiston-Street. A report in the Ipswich Journal** of October 1860 states that : A Shimmen, White Horse Inn, Leiston: begs to inform the inhabitants of Leiston and the neighbourhood that he has taken the White Horse Inn and trusts, by supplying every article of genuine quality and moderate charges, to merit their patronage and support. Every accommodation for commercial gentlemen. A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Jan 1885 states : All persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Charles Robert Upson, late of the White Horse, Leiston, are requested to send full particulars to Herbert S R Stanford. A report in the Ipswich Journal** in Jan 1895 states : The Leiston Ringers anniversary dinner was held at the White Horse Hotel, Leiston, in January 1895, the ringers and probationers that numbered 17 sat down to an excellent spread provided by their host Mr Johnson.
