Lively Wetherspoons free house in the town centre with a good range of ales including some local choices. The pub is named after the 18th-century poet and landscape gardener buried in St John’s Church churchyard, opposite. As usual, smokers, non-smokers and families are catered for. The familiar good value JDW menu is also available.
No car park but free, short-stay parking opposite and plenty of pay & display parking within a 200m walk.
