A rejuvenated 19th-century village local with friendly staff. Its small, welcoming bar is stone-floored with a cheery open fire in he winter months; the attractive larger dining and function area has floorboards and carpeting. The seasonal plant arrangements throughout are a visual delight. At the front is a raised decking area for outside drinking and eating. Food is very much part of the pub's offering. The menu, along with daily specials, children’s options and Sunday roasts should appeal to most tastes. Simple bar snacks are also served. Handy for Paxton House and the River Tweed. A member of the Timothy Taylor Champion Club.
