Volunteer with CAMRA

Now is the perfect opportunity for you to help CAMRA. It continues to be a challenging time for our pubs and breweries but, you, our members have proved to be determined, resilient and inventive – campaigning and working hard to protect pubs and breweries.

Volunteer with CAMRA

By volunteering, you’ll meet like-minded people who share your love of all things beer, cider, perry and pubs. There are many ways to get involved – helping at festivals, liaising with breweries, campaigning locally and promoting CAMRA.

Take a look at our latest volunteer opportunities or complete the Volunteer Interest form below to let us know what you’d like to do.

Young Member Co-ordinators

Support CAMRA in your region as a Young Member Co-ordinator!

The Young Members Advisory Group represents the needs of CAMRA’s young members – those aged 18-30 – to ensure that the Campaign continues to attract the next generation of beer-lovers and pub-goers. The Group’s Chair sits on the People Committee to represent young members across the Campaign.

Regional Young Member Co-ordinators have previously met annually and kept in touch online. We’re currently looking for Co-ordinators in the following CAMRA regions:

Kent, Central Southern, East Midlands, North East, South West, Scotland & Northern Ireland, Wessex, West Midlands, West Pennines and Yorkshire.

But anyone interested at all, please get in touch!

It’s a great way to use and develop skills in campaigning, communication, planning, and collaborative working – and more!

Under CAMRA’s Volunteer Expenses policy, you can claim back travel costs for national meetings.

Volunteer stories

Helping Shape the Campaign
Helping Shape the Campaign

Being on the Commercial & Communications Committee gives me a great insight into how things work, including the production of the Good Beer Guide

- Sarah

The CAMRAderie
The CAMRAderie

I get a massive sense of belonging and feel proud and honoured to be part of the CAMRA ‘family’. I’m able to work alongside like-minded people to achieve a common aim – the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime

- Katherine, Derby

The beer festival buzz!
The beer festival buzz!

Being part of a great team – helping sell amazing beer to beer lovers (we sold out of 60 real ales on the first day!)

- Nora

Improving my beer knowledge

I’ve been part of CAMRA’s tasting panels since they were set-up in 1989. During this time I have met some incredibly knowledgeable people and tasted many fantastic beers. Great fun!

- Kathy, Cambridgeshire.

Helping save pubs

We’re all committed to preserving and growing our pubs – we work together for a common goal

- Mike, Herefordshire

Getting out and about

As a Brewery Liaison Officer and a branch committee member, I survey pubs for our Mild Trail, Stout & Porter Stroll and IPA Hop. I also deliver around 200 of our ‘Nottingham Drinkers’ magazine.

- Colin, Nottingham

It’s easy to do

CAMRA make it really easy to start volunteering, with heaps of resources and lots of support from existing committee members

- Tom, Somerset

Using my skills

I’m one of 60+ members – the Managers, Deputies and Permanents who help make the Great British Beer Festival run successfully

- Graham, Portsmouth

Invaluable experience

My volunteering in wet stock logistics and getting trained in fork lift driving has proved invaluable – it led to a new job where I’m using those specific skills.

- James, Shropshire

A warm welcome

I became Editor for my local Branch Magazine in 2020. I’ve always enjoyed writing and realised incorporating my existing illustration and graphic design skills would be a great way to help CAMRA. I had no previous experience in this role but my fellow branch members were all very friendly and incredibly enthusiastic about me joining the team.

- Matt, Maidenhead
