Description

The original brewery was founded at the beginning of the 19th century and registered as Bedford Brewing & Malting Co Ltd in 1866. William Shaw was brewer, manager, and later owner. His son George inherited it in 1899. The name changed to George Shaw & Co Ltd 1902. Brewing ended by 1933. The name was revived in 2019. The new brewery owns the name rights, original trademark and has original recipes. Original/new recipes are being brewed by Dunham Massey Brewery to raise funds to build a new tap and brewery.
