The picturesque Sussex town of Lewes is home both to the Harveys brewery and also a range of interesting pubs. Some walking between the pubs will be involved, but this shouldn’t be a problem for anyone of reasonable fitness.
Our plan is to meet at East Croydon station at around 11.20, and then to take the 11.40 train direct to Lewes arriving at 12.26. Note that the new Superloop SL5 bus service connects Bromley South station with East Croydon station, the journey taking about 25 minutes.
Our itinerary in Lewes is then as follows :-
12:40: Gardener’s Arms, 46 Cliffe High Street, BN7 2AN
13:30: John Harvey Tavern, 1 Bear Yard, Cliffe High Street, BN7 2AN
14:55: Elephant & Castle, White Hill, BN7 2DJ
15:35: Lewes Arms, 1 Mount Place, BN7 1YH
16:20: Brewer’s Arms, 91 High Street, BN7 1XN
17:05: Lansdown Arms, 36 Lansdown Place, BN7 2JU
