CAMRA Vice Chair Ash Corbett-Collins

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Vice Chairman, Ash Corbett-Collins. The change to this key role follows the recent CAMRA National Executive meeting, which took place in Warrington.

He replaces Abigail Newton who has stood down from the role. Abigail remains a National Executive member for the rest of her term, including leading the People Committee.

Ash was first elected to the National Executive in 2018. He sits on a number of committees and has held several key national roles. He has been a CAMRA member since 2011.

Following the appointment, CAMRA Chairman Nik Antona said: “I am delighted to welcome Ash to the position of CAMRA’s national Vice Chairman. Ash brings with him a wealth of experience having been on the National Executive for five years and holding previous positions including chairing our Commercial Committee.

“Ash is also leading our Digital Futures initiative which is vital to improving what we offer CAMRA members, through providing new and innovative solutions. I look forward to working even more closely with Ash and harnessing his passion and ideas for the benefit of the entire membership."

Taking up the position, Ash Corbett-Collins, commented: “I am excited to step into this role. During the last five years I have taken on several national strategic committee roles and I am looking forward to this new role as CAMRA continues its journey.

“We have more than 150,000 members all enthusiastic about live beer, pubs and campaigning for change. This new role will allow me to support and collaborate even more closely with the national chairman and my National Executive colleagues. I am confident my experience and approach will further shape the future of the CAMRA through effective leadership, listening and collaboratively implementing change where it is needed. This will both safeguard its future and see it continue thrive as a well-respected and dedicated consumer organisation.”

Nik also paid tribute to Abigail Newton who served in the role for four-and-a-half years.  “Abigail has played an integral role as CAMRA’s Vice Chair for four-and-a-half years and member of the National Executive since being elected in 2014. She has worked tirelessly as director of our People Committee and led last year’s Inclusion, Diversity and Equality Review. I would like to thank Abigail for her hard work and her friendship over the years; I look forward to working with her for the remainder of her term and wish her well for the future.”  [/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column]
