A black and white grade II listed village pub dating from 1480. In a quiet spot down a country lane. The large bar area has a splendid inglenook fireplace while the cosy lounge has old settles and very low beams. Good value, home-made, traditional food is on offer daily. Beer from a small, local independent brewery is often available. The spacious safe garden, with swings, provides fine views of the Malvern Hills. Caravan site nearby. Level access to the bar.
One star - A pub interior of special national historic interest

Bar fittings were installed, probably for the first time, at this 17th-century pub around 1950, since when time has largely stood still. The small left-hand bar has a plain bar counter and period bar back with glass shelves and old till drawer. Note the dates on the handpumps (1951 and 1952). More 1950s fittings - seating and fireplace - are found in the lower-ceilinged area left of the servery. In the right-hand bar are a chunky bar counter with more date-stamped handpulls and old bar-back shelving, fireplace and settle. Further right, and slightly opened out to a passage, the dining room has more fifties seating, another old settle, beamed ceiling and half-timbered walls.
Timber framed 17th-century village pub. The bar fittings here were added in c.1950 â probably the first time there was a bar here â and very little has changed since then. The front left door leads into the main left-hand small bar with a plain bar counter and the dates on the three handpumps are 1952, 1951 and 1952. The bar back fitting looks to date from 1950/60s with some glass shelves and an old till drawer. In the area to the left of the servery with a lower ceiling is some fixed seating that could also be from the 1950s and a small stone fireplace probably of similar date. A doorway leads to the right-hand bar with a bar counter front of chunky horizontal panels, black Formica top and a set of two handpumps with the dates of 1949 on them. The bar back shelving could also date from around 1950, there is an old brick fireplace with log fire and an old settle. On the far right slightly opened-up to a passage is a dining room with more c.1950 fixed seating, another old settle, small old brick fireplace, beamed ceiling and half timbered walls.
