Pub closed January 2015, then re-opened with new name July 2015. Merito has been updated and transformed to a country pub and restaurant. It is Category C listed building with the original construction dating from the early to mid 19th century. One handpump dispenses mainly Scottish rotating beers, and the rear lounge is now a large bar with log burning fire. The pub has a dining area and a private dining area is also available. Food is served Wednesday – Sunday. The pub was taken over by the community in 2018. Closed temporarily due to Covid19 situation, but re-opened late 2021. Real ale reintroduced February 2022, but stopped later in the year and it is unclear when or if it will be re-introduced.
