One of Barnsley's long established pubs that has managed to keep its name. The pub was fully refurbished in 2011 and spruced up again in 2015. In 2011 real ale was introduced. These did become popular but in 2021 the hand pumps were removed during its latest refurbishment. The pub has a large '?' shaped layout with an 'L' shaped bar and can be very busy on market days afternoons and evenings. A selection of interesting bottled beers are available in the fridge.
