The pub is a 1928 rebuild, set back from the site of the original Victorian pub (renovated in 1889) as the road junction was changed. The original pub had pig-stys! It is a detached Pub, built by the Lichfield Brewing Company.
The interior now has two rooms. Both are served by a central wood panelled island bar. The bar is a straight room with two recesses, one at each end, each with a fireplace.
