The Half Moon free house has served the community of Newton Upon Derwent since 1743. Originally a single storey thatched roofed building it had taken on its present day guise by 1904, and underwent some refurbishment in the 1930s. In the 1800s inquests were conducted there and from 1852 the Newton Agricultural Shows were held in the grounds, ending the day with a wonderful village dinner with many toasts!
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 4 regular beers.
