Imposing friendly family-run locals pub, believed to have been built in the late 1940s on the site of an earlier hostelry. There is a single lounge bar and a separate large restaurant with its own bar counter, plus a function room upstairs.
Fairly standard pub food, including pasta, pizzas, snacks, plus children's menu. Grill night Monday; burger night Tuesday; curry night Wednesday; steak night Thursday; fish night Friday; Sunday carvery.
Historic Interest
A beer house called the Smiths Arms existed on the site in 1851, but the current building is thought to have been built in the late 1940s.
