This Pub is Closed Long Term
In Aug 2014 McMullens sold this pub to a developer and closed it on the bank holiday weekend. It has been closed ever since. Last planning application refused by Camden Council - 2016/7069/P approved on appeal. The 5 year ACV listing of The Admiral Mann expires on 30th October 2019. Save the Admiral Mann Committee and Kentish Town Neighbourhood Forum are working with Camden Council to renew the ACV listing. Site visit on 6th October 2019 and photos taken. Pub signage removed. This was a very comfortable two-bar pub, smaller front bar, which was the public and a larger lounge with booths and ample seating. The pub is carpeted throughout, hence the difficulty in separating the function of the two rooms, especially as they both have dart boards and screens regularly showing sporting events. A cupboard full of trophies illustrates the enthusiasm for arrows. Other pub games can also be found such as cards, cribbage and shove ha'penny and there are weekly pub quizzes. A very traditional local and the only tied house for this Hertfordshire brewery in North London Branch's area. An accredited member of CAMRA's LocAle scheme. No food at time of closing.
Historic Interest
Local Camden listing:- Mid 19th century Public House on corner plot, remnant (along with 9a and a much altered no. 2 Hargrave Place opposite) of an enclave of small scale workers housing that was demolished in the early-mid 20th century and replaced by the Long Meadow Estate.
