Pub on the edge of the city centre that has a 'village local' atmosphere and caters for people of all ages. Named after a hero of the Indian Mutiny. The pub was originally multi-roomed but has been opened out with comfortable leather seating throughout. There is a lounge to the left of the entrance and a games room to the right. Five hand-pulls offer a varying range of real ales usually from local and regional breweries. Eight keg taps offer lagers, a cider and Guinness. The large beer garden to the rear is popular in good weather. There is a karaoke night on Saturdays and quizzes are occasionally held. The multiple TV screens show a variety of sports. The TV's show "At the Races" and "Racing UK" every day.
