Built in 1929 to a plan by architect W A Hutchins for Mitchells & Butlers It consisted of bar, bar parlour and out door to the front and lounge, smoke room and assembly room to the rear. Over the years the various rooms were merged into larger rooms and extensions added to provide for more room for dining. It has operated under different Mitchells & Butlers themes and is now part of the Sizzling pub chain and its main emphasis is on dining but drinkers are welcome.
