The Starman is a David Bowie-inspired venue close to where Bowie was photographed for the cover of his 1972 Ziggy Stardust album. It is described as a modern all-day pub serving British pub classics from an open kitchen, alongside an extensive drinks list. There is a range of keg beers including German and Swedish, and West Coast types; but no cask ale. The basement also houses a late night cocktail bar.
Historic Interest
Soon after this pub opened, the original David Bowie handwritten lyrics for Starman were sold in Tasmania for £200,000, five times their estimated auction price.
