Named after a local physician and geologist who is best remembered for discovering and developing digitalis. This large open pub has a decor providing a mix of period 1700s and the typical modern bar area. Note the quirky picture above fireplace - see if you can catch the figure moving!
The three regular and three constantly changing ales are from around the country, with a focus on the local area.
Good value food is available in a relaxed atmosphere. It can be very busy around Saturday lunchtime as shoppers take advantage to rest their tired legs and arms.
