Family owned and run since 1987, the Crown Inn is a former coaching inn, dating from at least 1600, with an interior divided by exposed beams and wooden posts into a number of comfortable seating areas. An old lantern in the main bar, advertising Watneys Red Barrel, may bring a wry smile to some real ale fans. A large restaurant at the back provides plenty of seating for diners, though no food is served on Sunday evenings. The real ales sometimes include those from smaller regional breweries with Buntingford, Elgoods and Oakham regularly represented. Occasional mini-beer and/or cider festivals are held.
