Early 18th century coaching inn set back from the road in its own grounds. Comfortable wood-beamed single bar with separate dining area. Greene King IPA is the regular ale. The other three handpumps serve ales from the Greene King guest list. The pub has a good reputation for its home-cooked food, particularly its Sunday lunches. The adjoining barn has been converted into a restaurant and function room.
Historic Interest
The main building dates from 1764 and was originally a coaching inn.
