Englis/Indian
Built in 1805, originally called "The Cottage". It was linked to nearby Sowood House, home to the Greenwood family of doctors, and in 1881 Sarah Greenwood, widow to one of the surgeons, was living there. Occupied by the Metcalfe family from the mid 1920's until c. 1970. In 1989 it was extended and opened as Dimple Lodge Hotel, and during this work a well was re-discovered, probably be the original well dug for The Cottage. Now a family-run hotel, popular for weddings.
