This popular road-side pub has been under new management since September 2023. As well as a lounge and separate bar there is a function room at the back and outside bar facilities. The pub serves two regular Arkell’s beers; and often a seasonal. The pub has an extensive menu including changing specials and occasional promotions. Home to darts and crib teams with live music once a month.
There is easy access from the A419 and M4 Junction 15.
Historic Interest
The first beerhouse here probably opened in the 1840s but by 1859 a new building had been erected by the owner, Thomas Stroud.
Arkell's bought the pub in 1899 and until 1974 it was still called The Plough.
