Situated in a residential area, this two-room free-house is very much part of the local community. The pub is served by a central bar. The tap room to the right is decorated with old sporting photographs and features a juke box and a free pool table. The tastefully redecorated lounge is warmed by a multi-fuel stove and some old photos of the pub. Some glazing from the long-gone Heys brewery remains in the porch itself and there is a small round Heys window to the right in the main wall. Children are welcome until 7 p.m. A quiz is held on Tuesday nights and there is a book club Thursdays. Three changing beers normally include Goose Eye Chinook and a Blonde. Limited bus service (K4) to this end of the village, otherwise the nearest bus stop is on the main road beyond the Marquis of Granby (downhill all the way: use the signposted footpath down the steps almost directly opposite the pub door).
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
