Originally a coaching inn, the pub has a long central bar with half-timbered walls and contemporary exposed stonework. The layout is very comfortable with attractive seating including booths next to the bar and a separate restaurant area. Meals are served all day and include children's options. There is a quiz every Tuesday at 8.30pm. The decking at the front has southerly views to the Pentland Hills and there's a large beer garden at rear. Very handy for the Water of Leith walkway.
