After a prolonged closure and following a refurbishment, the Gardeners Arms reopened in September 2023, and is a sister pub to Ruby Jack's and the Fairfield. Known locally as 'the dugout' this backstreet local has two bars, a raised area with pool table and dart board and a small rear courtyard. Entertainment consists of wall mounted 'freeview' televisions, (i.e. not Sky, sports or music) and a jukebox. The pub operates a popular weekly karaoke night on Saturdays.
There is currently no real ale on offer but plans to install a handpump in the near future

The Champion Beer of Britain is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. It is the ultimate honour for UK brewers and has helped put many into the national spotlight.
Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
