Imposing stone-built former farmhouse, which probably became a posting inn for the traffic on the high road between Oxford and Cheltenham. Now a Butcombe owned pub, this 18th century coaching inn makes a great base for exploring the area, and has a cosy interior with original beams and cosy corners.

Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
