Victorian street corner local opposite the former Saffron Walden Railway Station closed in 1963 as part of the Beeching cuts. Community owned by 500+ shareholders, there has been significant renovation inside and out, much of it undertaken by volunteers. Plenty of outside seating and tables in the garden and courtyard. Completely free of tie, it serves a range of beer styles exclusively from local breweries, including a dark ale, craft beers and a number of real ciders, some of which are produced on the premises. Runner Up in CAMRA's National Pub Saving Award in 2021.
