Located on a busy main road which links Blackburn to Darwen, The Golden Cup is a beautiful building with an attractive kerb appeal. Internally there is a central bar, a snug area to the front and further seating areas to the left. An open fire creates a cosy environment for customers.
A large outside fenced beer garden with picnic table hosts local residents, sports teams and football fans, both Home and Away, attending Blackburn Rovers, which is just a mile walk away.
UPDATE 2013:
Opened up by Thwaites. Snug area to the left and fixed seating remains.
Former Description
A small three-roomed pub which retains little altered a small front room with the figure '3' on the door, good Victorian fixed seating all around, but a reproduction Victorian-style fireplace. There is a small snug called 'The Caravan' with more old fixed seating and a plain baffle but opens up to the bar area. Another area to the rear right has no old fittings.

Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
