On one of Leeds' oldest streets sits Wapentake, from an old word to describe an administrative area, is a little piece of Yorkshire. Open in the morning for the coffee and brunch crowd before drinkers arrive later. The bare boards and shabby chic furniture create a cozy, homely atmosphere, with the downstairs for chat and upstairs for TV. A place for individuality and relaxation that feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. They have become famous recently for their Yorkshire Pudding burgers, give one a go. Food is locally sourced from Kirkgate Market. May close early on Wednesdays and Thursdays if quiet. Card payment only.
