A lively and friendly traditional town pub, just a short walk from the High St, with a small canal-side garden at the back.
Originating from the seventeenth century, it was formerly a brewhouse until the 1950s and there's a full history of the former licensees and the pub on the wall just inside the main door.
The single room has a lively community atmosphere suited to beer and banter, and the TV shows major sporting events. Cobs and pork pies are available during the week.
The three ales are from the Marston's range and cask beers are on offer on Tuesdays.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.

The Champion Beer of Britain is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. It is the ultimate honour for UK brewers and has helped put many into the national spotlight.
Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
