Situated near the Workhouse Museum on one of the city's oldest streets, this pub comprises a large single bar with several distinct drinking areas where walls have been removed, and through a door at the rear, a large partially covered 'outdoor' area. A community focused, down to earth pub with a warm friendly atmosphere. Five handpumps serve an interesting selection of mostly Yorkshire real ales, often including a dark beer. A drinks loyalty scheme operates for regular customers. Meals are served Wednesday to Sunday.
