Pub ownership moved from Wadworth to Butcombe (Liberation Group) 1st December 2020.
This Tudor thatched building, with a large, riverside beer garden, stands below the westbound carriageway of the A31; easiest access from the town centre is via Market Place. Its many rooms, served from a single bar, are decorated in a calm and restrained style, and have a mixture of carpeted, boarded and tiled floors. Warmth from a wood-burning stove may be enjoyed from the comfort of a chesterfield. Food is available all day at weekends, and dishes will be adjusted on request to suit the needs of the gluten-intolerant.
Stateside Session IPA is a keg beer but in some Butcombe pubs it is being sold from behind a handpump complete with handpump style pump-clip; this is not real ale or cask beer.
