The Admiral Duncan dates from the late 18th century. The right half of the pub has become an independently managed Bangladeshi restaurant. The left half is still a traditional bar/lounge. It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
Historic Interest
The pub is named after Viscount Adam Duncan, a notable naval commander of the 18th century. The Baschurch connection is that timbers for his flagship (HMS Venerable) were supposedly sourced from nearby woods.
