A black and white timbered local situated in the heart of the village opposite St. Michaels Church. Established circa 1650 as a drovers inn and with original beams and settles throughout. Originally a lot smaller with other rooms brought into pub use over the years, the room on the right used to house a butchers shop! The pub benefits from the adjacent caravan site and is very busy during the summer months. The landlord has been here for over 30 years and is a fountain of knowledge on local history. Whilst visiting, be sure to ask him about the interesting story involving a tramp that once stopped here. Closed in January.
