Pop-up Pub now in operation in the pub garden until renovations finished (Check the Facebook page for updates). Now under new management (February 2024).

South Cheshire CAMRA Pub Of The Year 10 times, County winner 2018 and 2019. The Bhurtpore Inn is a family-owned, traditional village pub. The owners - Simon and Nicky George - bought The Bhurtpore in 1991 and it re-opened on April 9th, 1992. Since then, the pub has won numerous CAMRA and other awards. Food is freshly-prepared, home-made and reasonably priced. Eleven real ales always available, always including a porter or stout. Large selection of bottled beers plus a selection of continental beers on tap, The Bhurtpore attracts connoisseurs from far and wide. Named after Bharatpor, a fortress city in India, shown in colour photos in side snug, besieged in the Nineteenth century by a local gentleman, Lord Combermere [Sir Stapleton Cotton], on whose land the building stood. Some of the décor reflects this Indian theme. Photos of old Aston/Wrenbury area and pub-through-the-years and old field maps adorn the walls, and a collection of whisky jugs hangs from the beams. There is a very cosy interior with four distinct drinking areas and a separate dining room. Wooden settles, a timeless grandfather clock are complemented by two lovely fires, to the left a large brick one with intricately carved Indian figure and porcelain Indian elephant at side, to right a black-leaded and tiled Victorian grate (with Charge of the Light Brigade print above). A pool table and original pub sign feature in the bar. Beyond this in the newest room, opened in 2007. The Bhurtpore was originally opened by the current landlord's grandfather, and is now back in the family after some years absence. Formerly a small-holding, it is now a very popular local with a separate restaurant. The Bhurtpore is about fifteen minutes walk from Wrenbury station, and a bus service [72:Nantwich-Nantwich circular] during Monday to Saturday daytime. Public transport is a must if you want to sample a few of the magnificent range of beers. There is a good variety of quality bar food, from snacks (some of which are complimentary!) to full home-made meals which can also be eaten in the separate restaurant. The pub prides itself on sourcing as much of the freshly prepared food locally. Not surprisingly, curries are a speciality. There have been many and varied guest beers over the years, including regular mild's, stouts and porters. Numerous foreign beers both on draught and in bottles are featured, as evidenced by the menu. It has been, of course, a Good Beer Guide stalwart for 26 years. A regularly changing range of real ciders and Perry's also available. Well worth a visit. CAMRA vouchers now accepted.

Please note revised hours of opening (August 2021)
