This large Fitzgerald's pub is situated next to Stephenson's spectacular High Level Bridge, the rear windows and the patio have views of the city walls, River Tyne and Gateshead Quays. The main bar area, adorned with many stained glass windows, is divided into a number of seating areas with a raised section at the rear. Several guest beers come from far and wide. Among the live music events held in the upstairs function room is what is claimed to be the oldest folk club in the country.
