Originally a coaching inn, the pub is sited prominently at the top of the green, and is therefore also known as 'the top house'. It retains many original features with beamed ceilings, an open fire and an ice house. Tables on the patio at the front offer stunning views over the dale, while the beer garden (closed in winter) is a sun-trap. In high season meals may be served later than the usual times, and all meals are on a first-come first-served basis. Discount available for CAMRA members. Range of beers may alter during quiet times of the year and week. Breakfasts served during summer months.
Closed after New year until January 13th.
