Situated in the shadow of the Boston Stump, the building dates from circa 1520 and has had many uses from a Thai restaurant to a photography studio and antiquity shop. The pub has many small cosy areas with armchair seating and an upstairs restaurant room said to be haunted by former resident Sarah Preston. An outside patio area overlooks the river. The name is believed to originate from a time when the keys to the stump were held there.
