Situated on the west side of the town just off the Guildford Road. It faces a green with a pond on which can be found wild fowl including coots - hence the name.
There are 4 lines, the pub serves Fullers London Pride, and Sharp's Doom Bar.
Formerly a Bass Charrington tied house it is now owned by Punch Taverns. Before past refurbishment there was once a separate off-licence situated between the public and lounge bars. There is now one large bar showing Sky Sports.
There are 3 darts and one pool team using the pub.
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.

Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
