Situated by Saint Nicholas church about 100 yards off the main road in a quiet village which was first established by the Anglo Saxons. The origin of the name of this former coaching inn is a mystery although it was a local meeting place for farmers to settle their disputes and the name could have derived from this. The pub has a public bar to the front and a lounge with a pool table to the rear. Both bars have areas of plaster removed to reveal the original stone walls. A lot of teams use the pub as their base and they are active in local leagues. Reopened under new ownership in 2020 after a lengthy closure.
