Improve This Listing

A busy family-run village inn with a good reputation for food. It has a bar with a real fire, a lounge and a large restaurant at the back. The pub is opposite the remains of Forsters Brewery which closed in 1913 and it may well have been the tap house. The village has a series of walks exploring beautiful countryside and the remains of Bishop Middleham Castle.

Historic Interest

This pub was probably the tap house for Forsters brewery, which was across the road from the pub. The brewery was closed in 1913 & demolished in 1960. The foundation is now a park.
