17th century inn located in the historic Ettrick valley, popular with visitors plus walkers and cyclists but also very community focussed. Reopened under new ownership in Feb 2023. The cosy and welcoming bar and adjacent dining room are decorated with old photographs, water jugs other paraphernalia. There is a strong emphasis on food so tables are set for meals. The bar stools remain popular and there is a smaller room available to drinkers. The pub has also restarted darts, music and quiz nights and there is new outdoor seating at the front of the pub. Won 2023 Business Scotland National Winner Thistle Award for best pub!
