This attractive thatched grade II listed building dating from 1433 has a glorious damson orchard and has wide views over Ivinghoe Beacon and the Vale of Aylesbury a great place to relax and unwind. In the warmer months basket meals and barbeques are served on the extensive garden decking with an outside bar. Dogs are welcome in the public bar. Closed 3pm to 5pm and at 10pm in the winter months.

A 17th century timber framed thatched pub with two small bars which was last refurbished in the 1950s. In the small left hand bar are a 1950s-style counter and a bar-back that mixes 1950s and more recent work. The beams are replacements following a fire in 2004, hence why the insurance company prohibits use of the old fireplace. The tiled floor looks to be post-war. Through an opening (door removed), another small bar has an old quarry tiled floor and a 1950s counter with a recent wood top replacement of a copper one. Period doors lead to both the gents and cellar, the latter being notably low.

A photo on the wall from 1935 shows there was a range in the disused fireplace and an old curved settle alongside that created a passage from the right (now disused) door - note the deeper red tiles where it was situated. There are 1950s doors to both the gents and cellar.
