This Pub is Closed Long Term
Origins 17C, but much altered, and re-fronted circa 1910. Roughcast; 2 storeys; projecting bay extending over ground storey with modern inn windows and tiled roof; projecting gabled bay at centre. Exposed timber framed gable at rear with painted brick nogging, and 2 early 19C casement windows. Old town pub, nearest pub to the Saxon crosses. Refurbished internally March 2013 and reopened as the 'Saxon Grill at the Crown'. Closed at present. Offered for sale November 2023.
