The Devonshire is a popular stone-built hotel off the cobbled square, dating largely from the 18th century. Despite the open-plan layout, attractive flagged floors, open fires and wooden beamed ceilings give the bar area a traditional feel. There is a separate dining area and the cosy back bar area has wing-backed armchairs. Old photos of the local area line the walls. The northern section originally comprised a large arch giving access to the rear yard. This section was converted to form additional residential accommodation shortly before the 2nd World War. The pub is a Timothy Taylor's tied pub and member of the Champions Club. The Golden Best is branded as Drovers Bitter.
