Although part of new Cardiff Bay, this pub, which overlooks the Oval Basin, the former entrance to the old Bute West Dock, has a traditional feel to it. Food is good value with breakfasts being served from 10 to 12 with the full menu being available thereafter. There is a garden at the rear with an entrance onto Bute Street. Craft takeover 03/06/2019-18/08/2019, check with pub for Real Ale availability! [A report 30/08/2023 said Doom Bar was available but status not confirmed]

The Champion Beer of Britain is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. It is the ultimate honour for UK brewers and has helped put many into the national spotlight.
Judging for the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and tasting panel nominations, leading to a series of rigorous regional heats adhering to a strict blind tasting policy.
