The building/complex dates back to the eighteenth century and over the years has been used for many different purposes including the manufacture of footwear, a chocolate shop, the stabling of horses, a linen warehouse and the printing of local newspapers. Nowadays, you enter a stylish open-plan, stone-flagged bar with comfortable seating (including several Chesterfields). There are large screens for sports and the background music is fairly loud. Glass doors lead through to an impressively large, high ceilinged, courtyard-style space where regular live music is offered. Meals lunchtime and evening. 'Craft beers' are advertised and have improved to Beavertown and Blue Moon.
