This pub is a large 19th-century traditional city-centre building with an attractive brick terracotta exterior. A stained-glass window above the entrance displays the original name, the Vine. The large interior single room is divided into separate areas, with TVs showing sport throughout the pub.
A range of eight cask ales are served, with more beers available on keykeg dispense. There are regular brewery tap takeovers. A large number of ciders are available, usually Lilley’s.
The pub is popular with all age groups. There is a quiz on Wednesday evenings. A DJ entertains on Saturday evenings until late.
