This magnificent Grade I listed building, believed to have been converted into a pub in 1965 and last refurbished in 2003, is dated 1650, as indicated in the stonework above the door. The bar faces two large lounges. The front room incorporates a massive inglenook fireplace with superb stonework, as well as old timber posts and heavy beams.
Other features that add to the atmosphere include an 'historic' mural of the house itself on one wall. The side lounge is sometimes host to live music or discos. During the day both rooms are lit by large sets of mullion windows.
Games enthusiasts are accommodated by a pool room behind the bar and a billiard room adjacent to the main lounge. There is plenty of outside seating to the side and front of the building. A chicken coop can be seen in the front right garden.
This is very special place to have a drink.
