Once the Three Travellers, then a variety of bars and then a restaurant, this fine old building lay vacant for some years before coming back from the dead as a pub once more. The first, and oldest section, has a fine old fireplace and new flagged floor - a wide opening gives on to the second room where the servery is located. The decor is music themed with old concert posters and other material such as a life-sized photo of Slash (!) on the Gents' door. At the back, steps lead down to a patio-style beer garden with views over central Barnsley. Sadly, no real ale - Salt Jute is the most interesting keg offering.
